Homeopathy is a 200 year old system of medicine based on the principle " similia similibus curature" ("law of similars") which means "like is cured by like". It is a method of treatment that supports the body's own healing mechanism. Actually white pills are only a medium or vehicle to take homeopathic med. These medicine are usually prepared with sugar or lactose which gives them white color and sweet taste. In fact there are more than 1200 recognized homeopath medicine. These medicines are usually in liquid form. Few drops of these medicines are put on the pills and are taken as a treatment of a disease.
The above doubts arise in those people who use homeopath medicine for first time . In homeopath medicines are generally given in potentized form. Potentization brings out the inner medicinal powers of the crude substances. It is the mechanical action, which act upon the smallest particles of the drugs by the means of rubbing, shaking and through the addition of an indifferent substance, and brings out the latent curative energy of the drug. Thus the size of the pills has nothing to do with the effect of the medicines.
Actually the liquid which gets collected at the bottom of the medicine indicates that all pills are saturated with the medicine. This bottle is then dispensed which contains excess liquid and wet pills. Later on ,the excess liquid evaporates and the pills become dry.Since the pills are saturated with medicine, the medicinal value cannot evaporate and therefore pills retain their power for years to come.
